Sal's Pizza - Portsmouth

I ordered a hamburger and it was overcooked and incredibly dry. I really hope their pizza is better, but I won’t be finding out. After paying over $16 for such a disappointing burger, I have no intention of trying anything else.

We ordered pick up from here the other day and we were very happy we did! Our order was ready when my husband got there, and we all enjoyed our white pizza and our pepperoni pizza! I really enjoyed my Stromboli with mushrooms and jalapeños! Delicious! And, I have to say the young lady who answered the phone and took my order was awesome! Friendly, patient, and helpful! I thought the prices were reasonable, too! Definitely will be ordering again on pizza nights!

I had to wait a bit to pick up my order, but that was fine. The stromboli was hot, although it could have been cooked a bit longer. The mozzarella sticks were cold and needed to be reheated. Overall, though, the food tasted good.

Several issues1. Took them too long to answer the phone , I ordered a large pizza half pepperoni with 10 wings2. One of the cooks wasn’t wearing gloves and I watched him make several sandwich’s in between customers3. I asked them not to burn my pizza and this is what I got4. I pulled up one slice and the cook with no gloves said it isn’t burnt and that’s the way they cook it5. I flipped all of them over to show him the bottom is burnt and he said if I didn’t want it then I don’t have to touch the rest of them as if he was going to sell the rest to someone else6. He asked ME to put it in the trash !!7. I asked if they could make another one since I paid for it with my card already and waited another ten minutes8. When I asked if they were going to make the pizza after waiting another ten minutes the girl at the counter said she didn’t know and had to ask !!!9. She came back and said he will make the pizza after he finishes praying10. I asked for my money back and suddenly they are cashing out and after 10 minutes of them trying yo figure out why homegirls drawer is short $113 they gave me the refund “supposedly “ of $22 for the pizza minus the wings that are now sitting in my car getting cold.11. AFTER ASKING ME TO PUT THE PIZZA IN THE TRASH AFTER FLIPPING IT OVER , THEY ASKED FOR IT BACK !!!!!12. Paid $15 for 10 small pieces of wings and then one had the nerve to yell have a nice day while I was leaving as if I wasn’t gonna post this .The proof is right here ! Never going back !

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The pasta seemed like it was frozen and simply reheated. The red sauce lacked flavor, and the overall taste of the dish was quite unappetizing. Additionally, the food took an excessively long time to arrive, and it was definitely not worth the wait. I would recommend avoiding this place entirely! Also, don’t order online, as they charge $1.00 for each item; it’s better to call the restaurant directly.
