The poached chicken egg is really one of the best things you put in your mouth in this city. The food in Raleigh is exceptionally good. Small menu offers everything fresh, tasty and perfectly prepared. I'm not much of a wine person, but can vouch for the cocktails that are excellent. The ambience is still increased casually. What User doesn't like about Raleigh Wine Eatery:
Went to a 4 course tasting menu on NYE. The food was incredibly salty and some dishes were partly undercooked. The wine pairings were not great (although my GFs wines were much better. View all feedback.
Interesting and creative menu. Outdoor seats are great: many tables, views of the bridge, shaded for dinner from the building. I had a pressed pig head that was crispy inside soft and outside. The mushrooms with quiche and potatoes were my main actor, and I liked it. Ginger cake with cranberries was delicious. The service was attentive and friendly.
We love this place and often go. The menu is small and the food is simple, creative and high quality (I always get the cheese board!, cocktails are excellent, and a nice selection of beer and wine. The small staff is attentive, warm and knowledgeable. The people watching inside and outside are great. One of my favorite spots in town.
Raleigh offers on of the best outdoor dining experiences in Portsmouth when the weather's cooperative. Always a great spot for drinks, small plates and desserts. This particular visit we had outdoor reservations but chose to eat inside since the weather report was off and it wasn't as nice as anticipated. They regularly rotate the menu so you can always find new things to try but can be worth checking the menu beforehand to ensure you'll find something you like because what you loved last time might not be on the menu next time you visit. The staff is excellent and very knowledgeable of both the menu and wine beverage pairings. Definitely take advantage of their expertise. Overall Raleigh is a great spot to start or end your night in downtown Portsmouth.
My husband and I went there for Sunday brunch. I had the fritta and my husband had the steak and eggs both were very delicious. We want to go back to have one of their dinners, farm to table. Friendly staff. Clean and bright.
Great little wine bar with a cute market attached. We had the cheese plate and the venison, which were both amazing. I really appreciated the knowledgeable servers who were able to talk about the wine on the menu. I also loved that I could go buy the bottle of wine in the market that I had tried in the restaurant! Looking forward to coming back again.
