Granted, I visited this hotel in order to see a local musical production of Shrelso I was only in one room. However, staff were very friendly (especially the bar staff who accomodated my weird request ! The location is very easy to get to, whether you drive or (as was our case take the bus. The bus stop is a short walk away from the hotel with a bus going by every thirty minutes or so. View all feedback.
What Sylvia Beran doesn't like about Magherabuoy House:
The hotel has come a bit in the years and in places you can see that clearly. The rooms are nicely large and everything is very clean. Breakfast was fine, but not the yellow egg. The service was really friendly, but sometimes a bit absent. The food in the restaurant is delicious and pricey fine. Rooms: 5 Service: 4 Location: 3 Hotel highlights: Kid-friendly View all feedback.

Great location on the outskirts of Portrush with ample parking and function rooms. The hotel rooms are a bit dated and the building is in need of a general modernisation everywhere as it is an older style/decor hotel. Great cakes and buns from Leona's tea room (you girls will be missed... and a good range of beers and wines served by friendly and professional bar staff. BUT..... this place will close to the public in a few weeks and will no longer be used as a hotel. In a non-publicised sale to a hotelier in Belfast the Magherabouy will now be used to house immigrants for an unspecified number of years to come, with a payment of £162,000-odd made by the new owner to the local council. All pre-booked weddings and functions have already been cancelled and the bar will be removed with many staff, including some of our friends, losing their jobs. Such a sad end for a landmark hotel. With a bit of development this place had the potential to be a much needed luxury spa hotel in Portrush. Rooms: 3 Service: 4 Location: 5
