Stopped for lunch, (was actually looking for Il Castagnacciaio which has a prominent sign above P&P). Plenty of locals there, good and friendly service. Had 2 pizzas, both excellent. View all feedback.
What Mike78Paris doesn't like about Pane E Pomodoro:
We took two salads and two pasta dishes. Pasta was ok, but not more. The feta cheese in the greek salad was of minimal quantity. The mozarella in the second salad were very small pieces, probably from industrial production. Not the small fresh mozarella balls we were expecting. Apart from this the vegetables were fresh. The toilets were in a bad shape. We do not recommend this place. View all feedback.

On the base that 1 is the lowest. We ordered a caprese salat and Spaghetti carbonara with white wine. Spaghetti: ok not the worst ever but fare away from the best ever. Honestly I cook them better at home (and I am not Italian). Caprese salat: Forgot to take a picture bit the salat for 6 euro consisted of 3 slices of green/red tomate sclices and 4 mini sclices of industriel yellow/white mozzarella cheese. However we had enough dry white bread with it. The white wine was sour but ok for the price but the half litter buttle in which it was pulled, was really dirty. Same as the knife I received which was oily and sticky. After this experience I decided not to use the toilet. A visit from my partner comfirmed: dont go there. Maybe the saying: „if the toilet is clean the kitchen is the same... „ is correct sometimes. Service to be fair: quick and ok
A few of us popped in for lunch after a triathlon. I had a lovely pizza, and others had a selection of meats, fish and a salad. It all looked good, and service was fine. It wasn't busy though. A good little seating area in the sun. I think that any of the restaurants around here offer pretty much the same thing though. We will be back again next year, and will make a point to visit again.
We stayed in Portoferraio for a week with my husband and other family members. We chose to dine at Pane e Pomodoro on our first evening on the island. The place is quite small and not fancy at all but the service is great and the pizza was really tasty. We ended up eating 4 nights out of 7 there. We tried to order different pizzas every time and we were not disappointed. All in all rustic/authentic place, nice service and very good pizza.
