We visited le Figuier twice during a recent week's stay in a villa nearby and were very happy both times. Food and drink were good on both occasions (much better than the meal we had in Porto Vecchio old town) and the setting, largely outdoors...under the eponymous fig tree, is lovely. What Nunzia Pellegrino doesn't like about Restaurant Le Figuier:
The last review before I wrote this says it all waiters weren't very helpful We have been coming here for years and this restaurant was a must visit at least twice in our three week stay. This year no different and there last night....Sorry to say food has gone downhill, prices have increased too fast and the staff downright uninterested. We won't be back and it's a pity. Good pizza, we enjoyed our meal. Waiters are quick and helpful. But boy is it expensive! Lovely surroundings. They bring pillows for the kids to sit on which was sweet. Would I go again? Probably not as I think they’re taking the mickey with the...prices!
We enjoyed a very good au feu de bois' pizza in this restaurant. Fresh ingredients. Very nice atmosphere, sitting under fig trees in the garden.
We visited le Figuier twice during a recent week's stay in a villa nearby and were very happy both times. Food and drink were good on both occasions (much better than the meal we had in Porto Vecchio old town) and the setting, largely outdoors...under the eponymous fig tree, is lovely. It's not perfect service can be inattentive, even on a quiet night (we went once at the weekend when it was packed and along with several others we had to wait a few minutes for a table; and once midweek when it was much quieter); prices are typical for this part of Corsica, meaning quite expensive, but no more so than other comparable places. We'd be happy to return to Le Figuier if we were in the area again.
After being greeted by the very kind owner, we thought we were in for a great dinner, but boy, were we wrong! Our waiter Niko(s was very arrogant, no smile, rude and very unprofessional. He kept us waiting for a very long time and...after we placed the order, he forgot all about our table, although it was not very crowded... We came in at about u and it looked like he wanted to go home early, so he forgot all about service, as he wanted to get us out asap! We got our aperitive together with our food, he forgot about the wine and the water, so we asked another waiter who spoke to him about it, so Niko(s) came and put the bottle of sine on our table without saying a word... Didn't ask to taste te wine (basic), didn't fill the glasses again basic service and walked away again. He forgot about our water and when I asked about that, he came after minutes, again no word and he forgot to put the water glasses on the table! Again, we asked him and he gave them to us without a word nor a smile. He was more busy to clear everything of the other tables I don't mean occupied tables, but putting away all of the cutlery, so he could go home) A waste of our time and money. Sorry for the owner who was very friendly, but his staff is really unprofessional. To avoid.
Based on reviews my husband and I decided to dine here the to the last night we were in Corsica. It was their last weekend open since it was getting close to October. We got there when they opened to there was no fighting...for seats. The reviews mentioned pizza so we both got pizzas and the charcuterie plate to start with. My husband loved his pizza but I got the one with mushroom, seafood and meat. The pizza was sectioned off into parts and although the seafood was piled on it was way to fishy for me to eat. I polished off the other two sections but I left disappointed in the quality.
