I've been here for years, but my schedule never allowed me. Fortunately for me my train was delayed and I had the opportunity to plunk myself in the bar for a few glass of pink wine and some deliciously warm bread to nosh. If you stay long enough in the evening, there are beautiful live music and I swear it is as if you are transported to a time when mobile phones did not exist and you could meet beautiful strangers... Definitely a jazz atmosphere. Detection of COVID vaccination required. Coverage fee. Very dark inside. This is NOT a fast restaurant. Caters to older customers. You have a wine room. I was dressed in jeans and a blouse. The Snobby waiter hardly recognizes me. The bartender came by and took my order. The cake beet salad was okay. I guess I didn't meet his requirements. I'm not going back. View all feedback.

I absolutely loved this place. The atmosphere is chill and old school. The food is delicious but the service is amazing! Everyone and I mean everyone made sure we were having a great time. We were tired from hiking but decided to go out to eat. I'm so glad we did. The waiter of course was friendly and accommodating. The chef that prepared our steak Diane tableside was the absolute best! He was funny, entertaining, and engaging. Another chef or manager checked on us several times and carried on conversations with us. We saw this place only had about 3 stars but decide to go anyway. We loved it! It should definitely have more stars.
A good place to sit, relax and have dinner, listen jazz in a good performance, enjoy an excellent Diana steak, the sauce of which is prepared right at your table. And of course a delicious dessert! we liked it very much!!
Quite possibly the best meal I have ever had. The salad was excellent, the French Onion Soup was divine, the Steak Diane was life changing, and the chocolate pyramid was exactly as advertised. Aside from phenomenal food, the live music was also great. The volume was quiet enough that we could speak, but loud enough to be enjoyed throughout the restaurant. While expensive, if you have a special occasion coming up, Wilf's is worth it, no question.
I'm giving five stars because my wife and I really enjoyed our experience there. That being said I felt the prices for food were a tad high for the quality. Don't get me wrong the food was really good. There is also a cover charge for the music, I don't mind paying and supporting the musicians but again I thought it was a little high for the quality of entertainment. They also are checking vaccine cards and ID say the door, I totally agree and support it. The staff were wonderful, cheerful and attentive. This sounds silly but one way I judge an establishments cleanliness is the bathroom vent, it's often an overlooked place to clean, theirs were spotless as well as the rest of restaurant. The decor is slightly outdated but all in good taste. Because of the state of Portland right now the surrounding area of the restaurant is a little sketchy, I don't judge the restaurant based on that but it's good to know while visiting. Overall it's a great place to experience and would happily go again. I recommend this place entirely.
