We came to this restaurant without a reservation after an event downtown. We found 2 seats at the bar (lucky us). a bistro is a very good description. It has a somewhat limited menu, but everything we had was great. The service was a little slow, but the restaurant was very full. We started with Escargot, it was excellent, perfect for 2. We had a bottle of Sancerre, it was good but a little overpriced. The Cassoulet was not what I have had in other French restaurants but OK, different style, not creamy at all. My wife really enjoyed the Sole, well prepared and tasty. We would go back again, but with a reservation.
Amazing. The first time I intended to go for lunch but looked through the window and it just seemed a little to formal for me that day so my friend and I went to Tasty and Alder across the street instead which is always delicious. I just made it back though for a lunch and loved it. Once seated inside it did not feel stuffy or formal at all. I had a delicious Nicoise salad. All the plates I saw coming out looked great. Definitely on top quality culinary restaurant and good representation of French cuisine. I'll be back soon!
Serve classic French dishes in a beautiful environment. friendly and attentive service. they have a best cassoulet, which I had outside of frankly duck jam, whistling bauch instead of shoulder. no lamb or crispy broth crust, but still delightful. mustles in the classic cream sauce fine if nothing special. beef bourguignon also good. my only complaint is the price of wine. the selection is in order, but apart from few decisions in the lower area, the prices quickly escalate to almost four times retail in some cases. a more uniform price distribution would be appreciated and could also increase bottle sales.
The restaurant serves excellent food in a professional manner within a historic setting. It is recommended to take a stroll through the grounds and view the historical pictures. Upon entering the Garden Patio, we noticed smoke from a decorative fire, but it was promptly addressed when we mentioned it while being seated. The food was perfectly prepared and each of our four different orders were thoroughly enjoyed.
