Dining at Ray restaurant is a truly delightful and delicious experience. I’m so excited to see Israeli cuisine represented in Portland, OR, and I’m incredibly grateful for a chef like Jenn Louis, who pours her heart into every dish. I’ve been visiting this restaurant frequently, and every time, I've found myself thinking, “This is the best _____ I’ve ever had!” The first time I tried her Challah, I was moved to tears; its golden color, tinged with turmeric and sprinkled with poppy seeds and sultanas, was simply stunning. I highly recommend visiting Ray on a Friday night and ordering a loaf of challah for the table. You won’t regret it!
There aren't many Israeli restaurants in town, but you have to try the lamb flatbread. It's absolutely amazing!
Everytime I come here the experience is outstanding. The food, the service, the atmosphere... all are first-rate. The lamb-burger and fried chicken are awesome, some of Portland's best. Great for a romantic night out or a celebration. I highly recommend reservations; Ray is amazing and Chef Jenn and her crew keep getting better and better.
So good! We had the beet hummus with labneh, the chilled seared tuna, and the shakshuka! Plus the chili margarita and a cocktail made with beet juice and gin! Everything was AMAZING. The service was fast and our waiter was super nice. The cocktails were incredible and I was so glad I decided to get one instead of beer/wine. I've been to Shalom Y'all in Portland as well and Ray was just as good if not better! Definitely recommend it for a nice date night spot.
