I moved out of the state and was not looking for tacos like these, they are one of a kind! their fresh handmade tortillas are super tasty and if they like spicy, they get the red sauce I definitely plan to visit portland in the future and if I, this will be my first stop! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Poblano Pepper Pdx:
So this place. the quality varies widely, especially with the fish tacos. it's never really terrible unless I get fish tacos and it's just a single thick plate of fishing, just never great more. it really seems to depend on who cooks. Lately, it seems that most of the cooks I trust are gone, so I usually do not disturb. I miss the days when the owners worked here – that would certainly have been a 5-star review. View all feedback.
In short: shudder. That's all. This truck is part of a food truck collective. I had tried some other offerings from different trucks and wanted to give the tacos from this one a shot. I approached and ordered a taco. The guy behind the counter repeated my order, but suddenly my request changed from one taco to two. I clarified that I only wanted one taco, but he looked at me as if I had two heads. After a moment of hesitation, he told me the minimum order for credit card payments was two tacos. I felt frustrated, but he took my order anyway, all while giving me a cold glare. He mentioned it would take about 10 minutes. I acknowledged this and hung around near the window so I could hear when my food was ready. A minute later, he called out, reminding me it would be 10 minutes. At that point, I decided to sit at a table by the window. I couldn't shake the feeling that he was watching me the whole time, which made me uncomfortable and irritated. When my taco finally arrived, it was a disappointing experience. The taco had no salsa, was dry, overcooked, and lacking in flavor. The only slightly redeeming quality was that the tortilla was made fresh. Overall, this place deserves a score of 0 out of 20, and I definitely won't be returning.
This restaurant remains a favorite of mine. The staff is fantastic, and the food is excellent. They use fresh, homemade ingredients instead of processed canned goods. I find it interesting that the Belmont cart has always been a hit for me. I had some mediocre experiences with the Halsey street cart in the past and promised myself I would only visit the Belmont cart. However, after noticing that the staff had changed at Halsey, I decided to give it another try a few times. I'm glad I did, as it has become a reliable spot for me, just like the Belmont cart.
I ordered through Postmates and was really impressed with all the food. I had the carnitas, carne asada, and pastor tacos, while my friend got the soyrizo burrito and mushroom taco. The tortillas were excellent, and my favorite was definitely the carnitas, which were incredibly juicy. They also offered fantastic vegetarian options for my friend. I would definitely eat there again!
Really good! Had the tinga torta today and it was excellent. Super nice guy working there too. Can't wait to go back!
Fresh tortillas and ingredients are good. Seasoning just seemed off though, tastes bland, like they didn't use any salt. Hope they can fix this
