I've been eating at the Paradox Cafe for many years. My two favorite dishes are the vegetable scramble which makes me feel that I'm gifting my body, and the solstice corn cakes which are gluten free and have apples and walnuts mixed in. Be sure to ask for real maple syrup.I'm not sure when I posted the above review. I moved to Portland, Oregon in 1980, and shortly after had my first meal at the Paradox Cafe, so it's... What Ashley L doesn't like about Paradox Cafe:
I hate leaving bad reviews especially for local businesses but ppl need to know!Pros: plant-based restaurant dedicated to bfast/brunch, friendly serviceCons: whoa that coffee was BAD I don't recommend. Tasted like free hotel coffee). They only had one server not sure if they were short staffed but it took them a while to take our order). Way overpriced for what you get , quality wise my partner and I were very disapp... View all feedback.
Food not great : was excited because I’m plant based, but food was just ok. Also they just changed the menu to fewer options. Staff is nice and service is good thoFood: 1 5
I am blown away by the structural integrity of their burritos. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious as all get out, but I ordered the chili breakfast burrito, chili being a notoriously messy food, and the wrap didn't buckle, tear, or leak. 10/10 would order burritos here again. The atmosphere only gets a 4/5 because I straight up couldn't read the handwritten menu. I get the charm of it and all, but it wasn't awesome.Vegetarian options: Great options.
Isa, yes for me Dawg. It's the bacon that was on my Cesar avocado BLT wrap...like there aren't 1,000 vegan bacon recipes out there but who wants that when you can have this?! Then there was the vegan Cesar dressing...Has anyone there made tasted their amazing homemade Cesar dressing? Because this was delicious! Keep doing what you’re doing! Idk if there were even avocados on the wrap... But either way my body felt like it was in heaven and had entered into the purely gates shorty after consuming this wrap. This is a place I'd recommend after spending money for a wrap, tea, grat. Y'all can’t do better than you already are! Vegan doesn't have to mean bland thoughtless food and that’s why I come here. I love how you show your creativity, along with the power of produce, fresh herbs, spices! Way to a step it up buttercup.

Their eggs are also exceptionally good. Here's a pic.
My boyfriend and I frequent Paradox often! Compared to most breakfast/brunch spots, there's usually available seating, the food isn't overpriced or in huge amounts, and they serve a variety of dishes.
