A modern style Japanese ramen/noodle restaurant. The service was great, the food was very authentic, and the cost was decent. The ramen reminded me of the ones I used to eat when I lived in Japan. Many different choices, and full of flavor. Their appetizers were excellent as well. We had the Chicken Karaage, Agedashi Tofu, and Gyoza. All of these were delicious. The restaurant was clean and well lit and we didn't hav... View all feedback.
What Bernice Farrell doesn't like about Kizuki Ramen and Isakaya:
I live nearby and have frequently Kizuki probably 7 or 8 times over the past 3 years. Each time I'm left hungry and with a raging headache. I'm done trying. Last night I got takeout, just a simple chicken ramen, and woke in the middle of the night with my head pounding. I don't get frequent headaches, except from MSG or insane amounts of salt, so it was one of the two. Also have to comment that the chairs in the loca... View all feedback.

I don't get frequent headaches, except from MSG or insane amounts of salt, so it was one of the two. Also have to comment that the chairs in the location for dining in are insanely uncomfortable. No backs, so you just slouch and eat with your back aching. The service is also very typical Portland attitude. Not polite, the servers are very awkward and rude. I really really wanted to like this place, I adore ramen.
Great flavor in their ramen broth. The pork is not as soft as I would prefer but overall taste is good. The ambiance is nice and the staff is friendly. I would definitely return for more.Food: 4/5
I enjoyed the ramen: delicious broth, perfectly cooked noodles, tasty chashu and awesome whole marinated egg. The crispy, but tender chicken karaage had a ginger/shoyu base that imparted enough flavor making the accompanying dipping sauce not necessary. It was busy, but the counter was open for seating if you don’t mind the adjacent chaotic open kitchen.
