We had made a reservation at the restaurant for New Year’s Eve dinner at 11:15 PM. However, on December 31st at 7:30 PM, we received a call from someone at the restaurant informing us that they were unable to honor our reservation. Irish stew served to my wife was all broth as the waitress said from the bottom of the barrel,should have not been served.Next day when we were at Kells Restaurant the Irish Stew was overflowing and outstanding. View all feedback.
Best bangers n’ mash in pdx! Y’all should be very proud of that plate. Very well balanced and savory.
Such a great place to grab a bite to eat and relax. Great **** Mary's too. Service can be really great or (at times) non-existent but the atmosphere and food make up for it.

I came to Portland for 2 weeks, and I'm sad I didn't discover this place earlier. Kells reminds me of the grander Irish pubs back home in New England, except that the food here is better.Ambiance is classic Irish pub, with a fantastic array of scotch, old school decor. Gotta love the older Irish gents at nearby tables, gathered around their brews, laughing at jokes they've probably told each other at least 13 times, yet laugh like it's their first time hearing it.Have to give a fantastic shout out to their sausage roll (the gravy is such a magical touch), and the amazeballs bangers and mash. It's been a while since I've had bangers that taste like the old country, and Kells did the ancestors proud! It went perfectly with the Guinness stout I ordered.Looking forward to more visits upon my return to Portland!
