Description

Headwaters is a reimagined dining destination in Downtown Portland, located within the historic Heathman Hotel. Chef Vitaly Paley, along with his wife/partner Kimberly Paley and general manager Garrett Peck, have transformed the dining room to offer a soulful menu that showcases local ingredients from Oregon's diverse bounty. Formerly constructed in the early Twentieth Century, this property is a member of the National Historic Register and now boasts a new chapter in its storied culinary history. The menu, a collaboration between Chef Paley and Executive Chef Ken Norris, features Pacific Northwest flavors that celebrate the region's rich culinary traditions.

Happy hour is the perfect time to visit this restaurant for appetizers. My wife and I dined here late after attending the Portland Opera. Although some dishes were expensive, sharing two appetizers at happy hour prices was a good deal. The unique food pairings were not something you typically come across, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was exactly what we were seeking.

We were only there for the Russian tea and it was fantastic. The dining room is beautifully decorated, especially during the holiday season when the tea is served. The set price includes tea and a lovely selection of finger foods and desserts.
