Reuben (picture) was amazing. Matzo ball soup, knish, lox bagel, egg salad sandwich, and BLT all also incredible. Top vegan spot in Portland in my book.Food: 5/5 View all feedback.
What Jovan Yost doesn't like about Ben Esther's Vegan Jewish Deli:
I opened the door to find the restaurant blocked. The sign said to order online only so I went outside to order on my phone. It was freezing cold and we waited four 20 minutes to get three bagels with cream cheese. The worst part was when I checked out. I thought I was paying $15, which is already too expensive, but then they had the nerve to charge a $3 service fee/tip. I wouldn't have minded if they had filled up m... View all feedback.
Wow. the best vegan reuben, I've eaten in portland. unfortunately no seats in the interior. but they got at least my order pretty fast considering that they were about 20 minutes busy after I ordered online.
What a great thing to find. tried the simple bagels and kartoffel knish and was so satisfied. the bagels are made in the house and have a great chew and are dense with great taste. the knish was removable with a crispy baked dish and a sweet potato in the inner. so glad to see a series of customers.

Sooo Happy they opened in San Diego almost cried when I walked in . When I stopped eating animal products I thought I was saying goodbye to certain cultural family foods mainly because I cannot seem to perfect matzoh balls. Nope Ben and Esther’s was awesome!! Highly recommend
I'm a vegan jude, so I've been missing on the Jewish Deli experience for some time. I was really happy to see that it was a Jewish deli, and I thought that eating was incredible. I have the ox, knish, white fish salad and the cinnamon roll. everything was amazing. my partner says that the lox was quite close to the real thing (I am allergic to laughs, I never had it) but the white fish salad was a little out. updated from the previous review on 2022-02-13
