I absolutely loved this restaurant! The atmosphere and design were fantastic. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly, which added to the experience. The food was delicious, with some items being a bit pricier while others were quite affordable. The ramen and sake were exceptional! I enjoyed sitting at the counter, watching the chefs prepare the dishes. Everything we tried was wonderful, and as a local, I'm definit... View all feedback.
What Joshua -autenil- Kriegshauser doesn't like about Afuri Izakaya Se Portland:
This restaurant is simply absurd. We were at the Living Häus bar next door and decided to order takeout from here. They gave us the ramen with the raw ingredients in one container and lukewarm broth in another, instructing us to mix them and microwave it ourselves. What?! This setup is completely unacceptable for takeout. When I returned to ask the staff at the counter, they claimed it’s better if you take it home to... View all feedback.
One of my favorite ramen places was closed so we found this one nearby and this was a very good substitute. I really liked the broth but wish the egg could've been more runny.
I'm not a big ramen fan. But I am a big yuzu fan, the yuzu ratan here was amazing. Super flavorful with the slight kick of yuzu, noodles were cooked perfectly. I sat at the bar as I came here by myself and did not have or needed a reservation because they sat me right away. The decor here is super clean and open concept kitchen. I'd definitely be back here when I visit Portland again.
Had a wonderful time at Afuri! Their open concept kitchen was very warm and inviting, I sat at the sushi bar and watching them take their time with everything was wonderful! Good food, good drinks, good vibes
I went here with a huge group and we were seated at a long table near the windows. The whole place has such big windows and is amazing for a summer day, with natural lighting. The ambiance is bright and lively, but also very nice and perfect for a nicer dinner. Service here was super sweet with my group and was very patient in giving us time to choose our dishes as well as giving us any advice on recommendations as well as alternatives for different diets. I ended up choosing the asari shoyu as I 've never tried a clam broth before and overall, I thought it was alright. Maybe it 's because I 'm not very used to clam broth, but it didn 't taste very clean (I 'm not sure how to describe it) and was heavy. The noodles were also alright. My other friends enjoyed their dishes, so maybe it was just the dish I got! I would be open to giving it another chance as their plates look very good!
Nakamura-san has done an amazing job here. The yuzu-boosted ramen are all bright and delicious. The tonkotsu and tantanmen are creamy and rich. Each bowl has a noodle designed with the soup in mind.Great sushi, great cocktails, and a great industrial building in inner southeast.
