Contribute Feedback12 of us ate here on Saturday (we had pre-booked). Excellent quality food, simply prepared. Bread, sardine pate, butter, cheese, Serrano Ham and olives followed by the Freshest of Fish that you chose yourself from a fantastic refrigerated display. I opted for the Tuna Steak with onions and Potatoes. DELICIOUS. Everyone commented favourably on their own selection and confirmed that we had found yet another 'Hidden Gem ' known mostly to the locals. The house wine flowed both red and white as did copious amounts of beer from the barrel. I do not know the cost as we were being treated by some of our Portuguese friends who had selected the restaurant. WELL WORTH SEEKING OUT BUT PLEASE BOOK IN ADVANCE AS IT DOES GET VERY VERY BUSY. (which is always a good sign)
This is a very nice traditional Portuguese family-run restaurant half-way between Portimao and Alvor (Bemposta). The unimposing front entrance faces the main road but the main dining room opens up to a cosy terrace and rock garden through the back. There are a wide range of 'Dishes of the Day ' as well as a standard menu- big choice of fresh fish, the clams are delicious and a good friend of mine rates the 'Bife a Portuguesa ' as the best in the area. Service is friendly and efficient, prices very reasonable especially for lunch time set meals. Closed Sunday evenings and all day Monday.
Had sunday lunch here with friends. very good quality food and friendly service very busy so advisable to go early
Take the menu change daily. ok to wait 10 minutes for orders from the main menu. great.
Beautiful eating and service. typical Portuguese restaurant, but one of the best. we visit regularly.
