ate here twice during our weeks holiday. My partner had the mussels and he said they were the best he had ever tasted. Traditional Portuguese food at reasonable prices with lovely friendly staff who were always willing to chat and answer any questions. View all feedback.
What Lucy C doesn't like about A Portuguesa:
We went here for lunch on our first day. Not a bad deal of £12.90 per person for 2 course lunch. We since found places with better deals, but as I say, not bad at all. Homemade garlic bread was really nice, as was the grilled piri pirichicken breast. I found pubic hairs in my rice and the staff shrugged, didn’t seem to care AT ALL. Such a shame it put such a downer on the meal. HYGIENE CONCERNS -therefore, would not... View all feedback.
We decided to visit this little restaurant after walking past it on the strip and we definitely made the right decision! The service was second to non with nothing being too much of a trouble to the waiting staff! The food was fantastic quality, to start we had calamari and garlic prawns, both of which were cooked perfectly resulting in them being delightfully tender. For mains I ordered the chicken in mushroom sauce and my partner had the steak Portuguese style, both of which were cooked to perfection and full of flavour! Set slightly back off the strip allowed you to sit outside without being caught up in the pedestrians walking the strip, with a lovely authentic atmosphere. Would highly recommend and will definitely return to sample more of their delicious food!
We ate in this restaurant 3 times during our 8 night visit. Food delicious and staff attentive and very pleasant. Would recommend the Mozambique prawn dish, it’s absolutely amazing dish, so tasty. Every meal was so tasty and delicious. Price range was middle range. I don’t know why there is negative reviews about this restaurant, but each experience we had was positive and exceeded expectations. Well done to the staff and talented chefs of Restaurant A Portuguesa.
We had a lovely meal in this cosy restaurant. My husband and I chose cataplana, delicious fish and seafood cooked in white wine, my son had squid. Both meals were tasty, served with great care by our waiter and thoroughly enjoyable. I highly recommend this family run restaurant for an authentic Portuguese meal.
Perfect winter brunch for crater great human service, sea view, beautiful eating and beautiful music
I have been going to this family restaurant since 2019, all my family loves to eat here. a very warm welcome and excellent food and eating is fabulous. the only place that will make me kartoffel with my steak, my oncle loved eating. I can't expect to go back this september after I couldn't be in the situation, because of kovid.
