J. Michael's Philly Deli - Porters Neck

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then I'll say no more!

The restaurant is not up to the same quality I remember from visiting there in the past years. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich which had plenty of meat but no visible cheese. After biting into the sandwich there was a hint of cheese but the drippings appeared watery at the ends of the sandwich.In the past they would serve the Philly cheesesteak with a plethora of cheese.The restaurant now apparently allows pets inside the dining areas. Barking dog during lunch was annoying. Didn’t meet my expectations of previous experiences at this restaurant.

I use to come here years ago when I lived in Wilmington and I talk about how good the cheese steaks all the time. Well I finally made it back to Wilmington and this is the first place we stopped. I must say I was not disappointed in the cheese steak. It was amazing! Plenty of steak and cheese.

The customer service that I experienced was awful. The teenage girl (I believe her name was Tia) I spoke to on the phone was rude. Two of the girls at register were on their phones instead of paying attention to customers. They messed up my order and I had to come back to the restaraunt when I live across town. It seems that the person responsible for checking and ringing my order does this often as the cook and the manager on duty were both not surprised and upset with her. I will be calling another day to formally complain to the manager.

I was not pleased with my visit to J Michael’s, I had the meatball sub, the meatballs were dry and there very very little marinara sauce, had to ask for more. Totally smothered with mozzarella cheese, way too much. The French onion soup was bland, the only thing that was ok was the French fries. First and last time I Will be visiting this place…….and this place was recommended to me!!!!!!!! Never again!
