El Rancho Restaurant is an excellent local, casual Latin/Mexican eatery with a good selection of food items on the menu including salads, burgers, authentic enchiladas, tacos, burritos, house specials and more. What Lydia Otto doesn't like about El Rancho:
El Rancho in the past was the best place to eat here in Portales but after it reopened it has seriously declined. Last night I watched a family of 8 come into the restaurant and be completely ignored for about 10-15 minutes. The staff never even acknowledged them. Finally they left. Our food at in the ready window for about 10 minutes and arrived cold and soggy. None of the staff there seemed to be working as a team.... View all feedback.
The thing I can tell you about the restaurant El Rancho is the owner really looks at many people during the Christmas holidays. They give free food for those who may not have a Christmas dinner, and I have prayed for many years about this place and asked God to get them a third place in the area of Clovis and Portales New Mexico. You know, God knows how to make some good enchiladas especially if her chicken I like chicken enchiladas but double beans and no rice. Because I'm not a rice eater. The good Lord blesses us safely with a good place to eat and always remembers eating there because I have many years

I stopped by Roswell, I think I remember eating there many years ago. However, about a week ago the food was delicious and I enjoyed it!!

I must admit, I do not eat a lot of spicy food so the salsa they served was a bit too much for me...but it will be perfect for those who enjoy spicy food. Again, the authentic quality of the food is excellent. I would recommend El Rancho Restaurant to anyone looking for a good, casual family friendly Mexican restaurant.
