This charming vegetarian restaurant offers a wide selection of vegan dishes on the menu. We tried a panini filled with roasted lentils and mango chutney, as well as a burrito stuffed with caramelized onions and carrots. Both dishes were absolutely delicious and completely vegan! There's seating available both indoors and outdoors, providing stunning views of the water. Just behind the cafe is a garden where they grow... View all feedback.
What Michael K doesn't like about Two Whales Coffee Shop:
I waited 30 minutes for a breakfast sandwich, only to see it mistakenly given to the customer behind me. The coffee was good, but I can't comment on the food since I decided to leave before it arrived. View all feedback.
Quaint, homey cafe located in a small cottage in Port Rexton. There is a vegetable patch behind the cafe and they grow their own vegetables. It seems family run and staff are super friendly and welcoming. The menu is fully vegetarian and there are many clearly labeled vegan options. I loved their soup, salad and sandwich combo (23$ . Portions are very generous and filling. You can easily make modifications to the dishes and they make vegan coleslaw upon request. Their curry lentil pate sandwich and summer vegetable soup were delicious! Their drip coffee was quite good too. They had an assortment of awesome looking desserts but unfortunately only the date square and seed bar were vegan. I wish they offered some vegan cakes or pastries! Two Whales is a MUST if you’re in the area. It’s a great place to stop for lunch before hiking the nearby Skerwink Trail the most beautiful trail I hiked in Newfoundland!
I had the Bollywood panini ; it was yummy. A pleasant little shop with friendly staff and excellent food.
I had the curried lentil patty panini and it was delicious. I paid a few extra dollars to get two more side salads. Also, some of the deserts are vegan and I tried the date square which was great also. If you’re in the area I’d recommend this place!
Lovely vegetarian restaurant with many vegan items on the menu. We had a panini with curried lentil paté and mango chutney, and a burrito with carmelized turnip and carrot. Delicious and both vegan! Indoor and outdoor seating with a lovely view of the water. Just behind the café is the garden where they grow some of the veggies they use.
The curried lentil and tempeh sandwiches were both delicious. Beautiful space too. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. Updated from previous review on 2021-08-25
