Sadly the London is no more. The 150-year-old Port Melbourne building was torn down on 26 March 2017 for site redevelopment. There are alternatives in the area but the end of this era means the London with its fabulous location and atmoshphere cannot be enjoyed any longer. Fare thee well.... View all feedback.

First visit to The London. Upon sitting down, not one of the waiters acknowledged us. We order drinks & they come out just before our food arrives. The food honestly was disappointing, our waitress had little if no menu knowledge & gave us no direction with the "share plates", therefore we ordered way to much food, upon approaching our waitress about this, she was very unhelpful & refused to stop sending the food. Food very good and a great place to eat and drink. Chairs pretty uncomfortable though. Try the spicy pumpkin dip
With heritage protection lacking, this old hotel (built 1861, remodelled 1939) is likely to be demolished by an apartment developer quite soon. The hotel is one of the few remaining old corner pubs in this bay-front area. It has seen a lot of drinking and socializing and is a part of the history of Station Pier and Port Phillip Bay. The side of the hotel that faces the side street and the tram terminus is somewhat sheltered from traffic noise and is a nice spot to sit outside in fine, not-too-windy weather.
I loved the cocktail drinks here! Delicious flavour. They know how to make tastes drinks. I had their fries with aoli so I don't get smashed. Loved the fries too. I've been going back there ever since.
Great meal just before catching The Spirit of Tas. Fish cakes beautiful and flavoursome. Enjoyed the cider on tap and my son thoroughly enjoyed the scotch fillet. Would definitely visit again.
