Without doubt, the best restaurant I've been to in a long, long time. Superb food with really clever use of ingredients. Outstanding service that was very informative & friendly but not over the top. I have dined at a lot of Sydney's best restaurants & in the Hunter Valley& The Stunned Mullet is as good as any of them if not better. Have never been to Port Macquarie before but would return just to dine here. Was a brilliant surprise to find a restaurant of such outstanding quality. If you visit & you like great food & service then do yourself a favour & enjoy a great night out.

My new number 1 restaurant. The Stunned Mullet delivered on every level. The food was amazing and staff were very friendly and accomodating. It has a beautiful decor and relaxed atmosphere and is a defifinite contender in fine dining. I look forward to going back soon.

Jimmy's bar is a great place to meet and catch up with friends. Plenty of comfortable seating and a view as well. The restaurant was terrible. there were 2 specials on the board and 1 of them was not available as they had run out and it was only 7pm. The menu choices aren't vast and the meals we had were ordinary for the high price. Other people at our table enjoyed their meals. Certainly not a place to take the whole family.

Our second night at Port Macquarie saw us walk through the doors of the atmospherically lit Stunned Mullet. Cocktail and beverage menus were presented first...a mind boggling extensive list of wines from around the world. Be prepared to let the moths out of the purse! We both chose the same dishes and judging by our reactions, we chose well. First course was the most delicious unctuous strip of pork belly treated with Japanese flavours accompanied by a crunchy " granola"... a master stroke, the crunch was lovely. Next came the Glacier 51 Toothfish . A sublime treatment, once again with Japanese flavours in a broth to die for. Simple clean flavours were perfect for this unusual fish likened in my opinion to a " steak of the sea" ...thick but tender and oh, so delicious. We declined dessert, wanting the deliciousness of the Toothfish to linger on. Of worthy mention was James, our waiter this night. He was observant as to just when our glasses needed filling, engaging and extremely knowledgeable as to how our dishes were prepared. We really appreciated this being keen cooks ourselves. We look forward to returning to The Stunned Mullet though be warned chef David Henry and James, this sublime dining experience will be hard to beat!!

Stunned Mullet in Port Macquarie is receiving an overwhelming amount of praise from its customers. Many reviews mention the exceptional customer service, extensive wine list, and delicious food. The Toothfish dish seems to be a standout menu item that diners highly recommend. The atmosphere is described as relaxed and the staff as friendly and accommodating. Overall, Stunned Mullet is being hailed as a top dining destination, even being compared to some of the best restaurants in Sydney and the Hunter Valley. If you're in the area, the Stunned Mullet is a must-visit for a memorable fine dining experience.

I recently dined at The Stunned Mullet for the first time and I was blown away by the incredible food and the exceptional service. This restaurant is truly a gem in Port Macquarie.

Having been awarded a prestigious chefs hat since 2014, The Stunned Mullet was a major attraction for us during our visit to Port Macquarie. It is truly difficult to put into words just how exceptional this restaurant is. I would confidently say that this beachside eatery is one of the finest dining establishments I have ever experienced. The service was attentive, the flavors were exquisite, and the ingredients exuded a level of quality and freshness that is rarely matched. Despite being indecisive about the menu, we settled on enjoying three courses by opting for two appetizers and a main dish, in addition to starting with some freshly shucked oysters served with a variety of dressings. Every bite burst with flavor, making it impossible to choose a favorite dish. My companion and I had a spirited debate over which was better, the hiramasa kingfish or the glacier 51 toothfish (personally, I believe the toothfish triumphed). If there is one thing you must do while in the mid-north coast of NSW, it is to treat yourself to a meal at The Stunned Mullet. It is culinary perfection by the sea.

Rating: 6 out of 5 stars. This restaurant is exceptional in every way. From the delicious flavors to the impeccable service, lovely decor, and the surprise of having German and Austrian staff. The location is perfect, the food is fantastic, the wine list is amazing, and the atmosphere is top-notch. The dinner menu offers a set price for three courses with multiple options to choose from for each course. We enjoyed dishes like prawns, kingfish, scallops, linguini with prawns, and chocolate ganache, all of which were incredibly flavorful and beautifully presented. The wine selection was outstanding, with a smooth Gruener Veltliner 2017 from Bernhard Ott standing out. For dessert, we indulged in a port-style wine and a vin doux naturelle. This restaurant is a must-visit when in Port Macquarie. Highly recommended! XO

I have to give this restaurant a perfect 10/10 rating. I want to commend the chefs, kitchen staff, waiters, waitresses, and front of house staff for their exceptional service. My wife, daughter, and I are food lovers and have dined at many places in the Hunter Valley, Sydney, and Melbourne. We have our favorite spots, but I must say we have found a new must-visit place. The three of us shared 4 appetizers, 4 main courses, 3 desserts, and a bottle of red wine. The menu was so appealing that we wanted to try almost everything! The quality of the ingredients was top-notch, and the attention to detail in each dish was truly impressive. Thank you to the entire team for providing us with such a wonderful dining experience.

The restaurant uses quite a few 'Asian ' ingredients but is not bound by the rules. They have their own interpretation the result was overall good although not always outstanding. I always order Patagonian toothfish in a restaurant when it is on the menu. Here they steamed it, and the quality of the fish itself shone through. I did feel that the fat was still locked in the flesh, which, although very tasty, would be even better if the fat was released. I must admit my favourite way of cooking toothfish is still something similar to 'Saikyoyaki ' (to marinate it in miso or koji then grill it), which can release the fat from the flesh and highlight the sweetness of the fish.
