Issues with cleanliness and temperature of food were reported by some patrons. However, the quality of the food was generally good but portions were small. The staff was praised for their friendliness and efficient service. The atmosphere was described as lacking by some, but the overall dining experience was enjoyable for most customers. Additionally, the restaurant offers a selection of Australian wines and serves excellent cuisine, making it a recommended spot in Port Macquarie.
We requested oyster Kilpatrick for the 4 of us to share. When they came to the table they were clearly off (smelt bad). The waitresses were very apologetic, but the chefs dismissed our complaint, and did not even come out to speak to us.We cancelled the rest of our meals and left, never to return again!
I stayed in the hotel for a business trip and ate dinner and breakfast here. The menu was a little limited for me, but I had the fish of the day and it was a great choice! Perfectly cooked and a very large meal. Service was great and they charge back to the room. Decided to go down for breakfast based on the great meal and what a good choice! I had the French toast and again, absolutely huge, best French toast I have ever had and nicely plated , the coffee was also great, and I headed off feeling very full afterwards. Again the staff were friendly and the restaurant very busy but no service delay at all.
The breakfast was reasonably good but the price was exceptionally high. My husband had a full breakfast and two coffees, I didn't want all the bread and potatoes on the regular breakfasts which ran from $14-$26 so I just ordered three "extras" (bacon, poached eggs, and a yummy roast tomato @ $4 each) and a tea, our bill was close to $50. The tea was good but the teapot was dirty, i.e. the red ceramic glaze had a matte finish which is difficult to keep clean and there were grey/black marks from the lid to the spout. The service was efficient enough but the atmosphere was a bit cold and flat. We had our next breakfast elsewhere for less money and enjoyed a more pleasant atmosphere.
This was our first time eating dinner here. We've had many lunches here. Dinner was wonderful. My husband had the fish of the day and I had the stuffed chicken breast. We even splurged for two desserts which were also very good. We'll be back again for dinner....and lunch
