Excellent food. Very well prepared and presented. Service very good--efficient and friendly. Happy hour most welcome and appreciated. However as an aside I would have liked to have seen some local beers in the fridge and more local wines on the wine list. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Mercure's Restaurant Synergy:
Atmosphere is nice and the staff are very good. The menu is pretty stock standard with nothing really out of the ordinary but what I had was good, not great but good. Pricing is out of whack though, $32 for a vege curry is more than you'd in the city. Other than that it's pretty good. View all feedback.
My recent weekend getaway at this hotel was fantastic. The customer service was top-notch, the food at the restaurant and buffet was delicious, and the beds were comfortable. The spa was a particular highlight for us, although we found the pool too cold to swim in during the winter - which was understandable. The only downside was that the room was not properly dusted, triggering my allergies with dust on everything, including the bed sheets. Apart from that, our stay was flawless. The location is ideal, within walking distance to whale watching boats, a cinema, restaurants, and a shopping center.
I had the best sleep on the rollaway bed at this restaurant! The pool was warm and refreshing, and the customer service at the front desk was excellent, always with a smile. The only issue was that the cleaners forgot to wipe down the desk in the room, leaving sand and hair from the previous guest. Other than that, the rest of the room was beautifully clean.
This is the perfect place to stay, conveniently located near beaches, restaurants, and shops. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and they have been a consistent presence every time we visit. We cannot speak highly enough of this place. We can't wait to come back again soon.
Synergy Restaurant is reputed to be of superior dining, the space is cosy, not much space between other diners which isn't great, the menu satisfactory, we both chose the medium cooked 220g Eye Fillet offered with one side and sauce of our choice, we also decided on another side the cauliflower gratin. The restaurant was full, we waited 45 minutes for our meal to be served, the side winter roast veggies a large serving, probably not needing the extra side ordered, not explained well enough by the young girl who served us. One of the meals served the eye fillet was disaster, overcooked, a rogue cut of meat, possibly not even eye fillet? totally unacceptable for the $48 asking price. My wife an Accor member does receive a discount on the meals, that is why we continue to renew each year. Our waitperson Josh was most apologetic and embarrassed with the meal taking it away for the chef's opinion, he came back to the table offering another meal or simply a no charge, the later option accepted, my wife deciding another wait not acceptable finishing off the serving of cauliflower gratin. We drove 600 km from Brisbane that day needing a relaxing dining experience, it was not to be. Very disappointing.
What happened? The staff? The food? All gone downhill! Staff that don 't offer sparkling water, speak slang as what do yous want? Is common language. They have really Dropped the ball! The red wine jus taste like salted beef stock, the winter veg side consists of sweet potato and cauliflower, the wine menu has decreased significantly, the price though is still sky high for the quality and service. My recommendation is spend your elsewhere! As locals and Accor members, this used to be our go to place where we knew we would not be disappointed....not anymore!
