The service may be slow, but it is definitely worth the wait! Each dish is clearly homemade and cooked to order. We were even able to make a special request for our Sunday morning breakfast and it was no trouble at all. The homemade pizza is incredible, the Caesar salad has a delicious homemade dressing and plenty of bacon. All of the produce and eggs are fresh and locally sourced. We had to wait a bit for our meal,... View all feedback.
What Nia Zemlak doesn't like about Tornados Restaurant:
This restaurant was never open and it goes with the Tornado motel. We have never been to a place where the restaurant was closed as soon as we arrived and closed all of Sundays. View all feedback.
We have been cottaging in Port Loring for almost 10 years and love to have a meal out mid week. This being said, it is not easy to find a nice place to enjoy a bottle of wine and a lovely dinner. I found Tornados...Resort Restaurant listed in the Loring and Restoule TRAVEL GUIDE. We dined on Wednesday, on which day it was a set meal. Lucky for us they were serving Schnitzel with homemade potato salad, cucumber salad, mixed greens salad, and tomatoes. We started with a lovely homemade zucchini soup. The owners are Swiss and with the native influence the meal was to die for. They have a small wine list but we found a suitable choice. We enjoyed a tasty pineapple and cherry schnaaps cake for dessert. Our table overlooked beautiful Pickerel Lake and our server was fantastic. See you next year!!
Last week, my husband, adult son, and I drove to dinner after tornadoes. We dined on the terrace and the meal was fantastic. We ordered from the Swiss section of the menu and the dishes were tasty and generous. Our waiter, who was Swiss, was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant dining experience. The wine list may be small, but it is excellent and the salads were delicious. For dessert, we had warm berries over ice. We plan on making this restaurant a regular dinner spot when we are in town.
We were in the resort tornados cottage and enjoyed 2 home cooked meals in the restaurant before place. we decided to taste their Swiss inspired specialties and everything was delicious. a must order is the kartoffels, rosti, they are like potato pancakes, asking for acidic...cream! the carving was delicious and everything was served hot to order. they have a wine menu and a children's menu. the breakfast was also fantastic, they have a terrace with views of the water so that was very nice. French toast was good and again the kartoffel rosti had delicious! we met natives who came from their cabins/cabins for meal, so they know how good this place is.
This beautiful restaurant located near the lake offers an authentic Swiss kitchen experience. The dishes are well-prepared and the staff is both friendly and skilled.
