What User doesn't like about La Quinta Inn Suites By Wyndham Port Lavaca:
built next to airgas, which starts its forklift at 430. furniture looks like they bought it at the garage sale and the heating make so much noise that they wake up every 20 minutes. find a better place. the money is not worth View all feedback.
The restaurant was excellent. The staff was very welcoming. Our rooms were cleaned while we were out. The towels and sheets were replaced as well. The pool was fantastic and the breakfast was delicious. The check-out time was just right, not too early. I would give the room 4 stars, but the top bedspread was visibly dirty and there was a musty/wet smell in the room. They provided DOVE shampoo, conditioner, and body wash which is good to know for a future stay.
Don't expect to use the Wi-Fi for work at this restaurant. Kameron at the front desk is cool, and I would hire him right away. Well done, young man!
Nice, clean, comfortable, affordable...pet friendly...wecwill return...Thank you !Rooms: 4/5
Nice and clean rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and lobby. The main lady serving breakfast was super sweet and offered extra breakfast items to everyone in the eating area before just tossing them out. The kids could have fresh fruit from the basket at any time. Upon check-in (9:45ish pm), they offered to make a fresh batch of coffee if we wanted any. My daughter happened to have a surprise visit from Aunt Flo right after check-in and the sweet (mid-teen/young adult) girl at the counter DISCREETLY gave her enough supplies to make it well into the following evening (which was appreciated since the lobby was quite full). The only things that sucked horribly were the feather pillows, the elevator was soooooo slow, and the hallways were freezing. They didn 't have anything but feather pillows and no extra ones. You get 3 pillows on each queen bed, and that 's that. The housekeeping crew were also all super friendly and helpful and gave us plenty of towels and trash bags upon request. The location was very convenient; Walmart, Heb, Walgreens, Gas Stations, Liqour stores, Sonic, McDonald 's, and a couple of other fast food restaurants were within a 2 mile radius. A local also let us know to avoid fishing that area because the factory across the big bridge dumps chemicals into the bay. The entire staff was super friendly and helpful at all times. Would definitely stay again, but I would definitely take my own pillows and maybe an extra blanket.Rooms: Very clean for a La QuintaNoteworthy details: The entire staff, at all times in our entire 5 day stay, were very helpful and friendly. I was impressed with the service we received, and my expectations were well exceeded. But seriously, TAKE YOUR OWN PILLOWS. All the pillows were feather and quickly deflated to rock hard lumps within seconds, and they didn 't have any extra pillows of any kind.
The hotel had a strong musty smell throughout, which only worsened in the room. It seemed like there may have been a water leak that wasn't cleaned up properly. The sleep quality was poor due to the smell and uncomfortable beds. Additionally, we found it strange that housekeeping entered our room to only grab towels while we were out, without doing any other cleaning. When we returned, someone from housekeeping knocked on the door and immediately began to enter without waiting for a response. Luckily, I was able to quickly close the door as I was not fully dressed. The one positive aspect of the hotel was the helpful staff member Cameron at the front desk.
