I'm a regular here and this place is one of my favorites. The coffee is great and they have a solid breakfast menu as well as a range of naughty slices and cake. There is a selection of 'raw food' options too. The staff are always on the ball even though it gets quite busy of a Saturday morning. Actually I don't think I've ever been in when it's quiet, even mid week!
The only downside is the location is right in the... View all feedback.
What Jamison Gerhold doesn't like about Ellie's Cafe:
Went in to get a take away coffee, while I was waiting observed one staff member patting a customers dog in the side room next to the counter area, playing with it then went straight to serving a customer food without washing her hands and...she didn't put gloves on so I then declined ordering any food. Not hygenic at all! Will not be ordering any food from there again! View all feedback.
Went for brunch . A little warm in the outdoor section . Smoothies were nice but a little expensive. I had a chicken focaccia, it was real chook ! Which was delicious. The wife had a big breakie . Very avg for price. If the...beans were home made , sausage was different to a bunnings snag it could have been great. Especially as Ellie’s comes across as home made tucker/ well being food I guess you can call it these days . Couple of improvements and this place would be packed every day .
Had plenty of vegan and gluten free options to pick from . Friendly staff nice food . Enclosed outdoor area
Went in this morning Ellie’s is a bright open and inviting place. Their staff always appear frazzled and rushing around and no attention to service. I ordered an almond flat white and it was boiling hot and burnt and came in a takeaway cup luckily...as I chose to dine in. I left it on the table and didn’t drink it. Coffees are called out and you don’t know which is yours, if many people order same, I assumed mine would come out in a dine in cup, when a family went up to ask of the coffee was ok to take they didn’t help and just said I don’t know, the staff really don’t seem happy. I had even asked one of the ladies who bought out my food in a takeaway carton of my coffee would come out in a mug, it was never followed up on. Food is also hit and miss here, I had the most disgusting stuffed mushroom previously that was cold and really chewy. Because the line up was around 8 people long, you feel you can’t say anything as they are running frantic behind the counter. I really feel that their customer service and staffing should be looked at, they have potential.
Asked my daughter to take me for my birthday breakfast as it’s usually great. Worst morning ever. Waited 1 hour before asking where our food was .“Sorry, (not sorry) we have been busy with Uber eats orders. Your order is next”. Waited another 20 minutes...to have our over cooked eggs delivered and they looked horrible! Took them back. 5 minutes later fresh eggs and she put them on the table, as said “sorry about that” as she walked away from the table. Watched 3 other groups of diners leave before their meals came. Embarrassing as my daughter paid $70.
Love the amount of gluten free options here! The food was great. My partner and I shared a salt and pepper squid. Thank you to catering to us gluten free peeps! Much appreciated! :)
