The Golden Lion - PORT ISAAC

The fresh fish and chips were fantastic, especially when enjoyed with a large pint of "Professional"! It was great to be back in Cornwall at a traditional pub with friendly service and freshly cooked food. I savored every bite, but the best part was definitely the mushy peas—absolutely the best I've ever had!

My two sons and I visited on a chilly February night. It’s a fantastic pub with an incredible atmosphere and charm, complete with a lovely fireplace. The beer and wine selection was excellent. We enjoyed the fish cake, homemade burgers, and a delicious fish finger sandwich. All the food was beautifully prepared and served hot. The staff were very friendly. I absolutely loved it!

As a few people have mentioned, you can't reserve a table here, but we were able to find a spot quickly and enjoyed two drinks at the Golden Lion. The staff behind the bar were also wonderful. Our experience was so enjoyable that we decided to return for dinner. We arrived at 6:15 PM, and the pub was bustling. Once again, we were greeted by the same lovely lady, and she greeted us with a warm smile. As expected, there were no available tables when we arrived, but we ordered drinks and sat outside on the balcony while we waited for a table to free up. The views over the harbor, even at night, were beautiful, and we loved sitting out there! Once a table became available inside, we had a fantastic dinner of fish and chips and a burger, both of which were excellent. If you're heading to the Golden Lion, my advice is not to expect an immediate table—it’s a lively pub in a busy location. Be patient and courteous, and I'm sure you'll find a spot!

Very good food! no coffee or tea. best ice cream on Sunday ever! you need port when love!
