The Village Bakehouse Port Fairy

Great small bakery. pieces and sausages roll available hot and individually packed. they were tested for gluten. there were 3 cake flavors when we were there. the simple and cloby bark was both very nice. great bake. there were several sweet options to 4 slices, a muffin and a cheesecake. the Passion fruit cheese pane was beautiful, they were all in the upper regal with various utensilien.

This is a wonderful little bakery! They offer hot pies and sausage rolls, each individually wrapped. The items have been tested for gluten, which is a nice touch. During our visit, there were three pie flavors available, and both the plain and chunky beef pies were delicious with great pastry. They also had several sweet options, including four slice varieties, a muffin, and a cheesecake. I particularly enjoyed the passionfruit cheesecake slice. Everything was neatly displayed on the top shelf with various utensils provided.

The beef pie, although simply presented and wrapped in plastic, was incredibly delicious.

I was quite surprised to pay $16 for a clobbered bark cake and a caramel disc. Unfortunately, the torte fell apart on the first bite and was inedible. The sauce had turned into a black gel, as if it had been sitting in the warmer for days. I’m not sure how it's possible to mess up a caramel disc, but they managed to do just that.

I had a delicious gluten-free sausage roll that was individually wrapped in plastic, and I experienced no symptoms after eating it. However, after taking just one bite of a gluten-free caramel slice, I felt nausea and abdominal pain within 10-15 minutes. They do have gluten-free cakes on the top shelf, but they're not wrapped, so I'm pretty sure they were contaminated.
