Waves Coffee House - Port Coquitlam

I normally don't like chain cafes but this one is special to me and my partner. We sometimes drive 30 minutes just to get there and get their perfect Moca with Spinach feta cheese. I love the couple who are working there :

We have always loved mochas and especially enjoyed the spinach bistro pastry at this restaurant. The owners were friendly and the ambiance was pleasant.

My friend and I were hanging out at this Waves. My friend had some digestive issue and the doctor didn't allow him to have coffee and sugar. I made sure I ordered a coffee and a sandwich for myself before we sat down my bill was well over $20.But the moment we sat down and the owner saw my friend without a drink, he requested us to leave. He was super rude and unprofessional. It's such a nice place but is completely ruined by the owner's attitude.The food and drink are ok. But I would never come back again.

The owner here gave people a hard time for sitting at a public seat outside of this establishment, and those seats did not even belong to Waves. The owner is rude and crass. Price for a coffee here is also higher than Starbucks yet Starbucks tastes better.

On Sunday morning and early afternoon, the staff appeared overwhelmed and not very efficient. My friend ordered a matcha latte which was served lukewarm. There was also a lack of smiles and genuine personality, unlike the owners who are a husband and wife. We miss their warm presence, but commend them for taking some time off. They have been working tirelessly, often 6-7 days a week, for quite some time.
