Taco Del Mar - Port Coquitlam

Every year, for the past decade, the "Taco Del Mar" in Port Coquitlam celebrates Cinco de Mayo in a unique way. On May 5th, the date is marked in honor of the Mexican Army's triumph over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. Many Mexican restaurants use this day to share their culture through their food, and at the "Taco Del Mar" in Port Coquitlam, they host the annual "5-Pounder Burrito Eating Challenge", exclusive to this location. This amateur eating competition will celebrate its 10th year in 2018.

This restaurant deserves a higher rating. Taco Del Mar is amazing. Despite possibly being short-staffed, their food is excellent. I especially enjoy their Mondo Burrito with either beef or chicken. My husband and I will definitely continue to frequent this establishment.

Why are you all hating on Taco Del Mar? I think it's delicious!

I have never tried Taco Del Mar as I usually don't go for Mexican but i love fish tacos and saw they had them on the menu from outside in my car and thought I'd give them a try. I ordered 2 fish tacos (taco del mar style) and i have to say that i was very pleasantly surprised for a fast food joint how fresh and delicious these were. The fish was crispy, hot and fresh and it was topped with cabbage, pico de galo and a fish taco sauce that was really tasty and it came on a corn tortilla which was great. They were $4.50 each so just over $9 for the two, which was perfect. It was really good! i usually go to McDonalds and feel gross after eating there so i will now switch to fish tacos at taco Del mar! Glad they are in my neighborhood

We have tried Taco Del Mar several times and honestly if you don't have a coupon it is quite pricey for families. We usually get the 2 for 1 burritos when we have coupons which is a great deal. Food is good but we usually make Mexican at home.
