Complaints include cold, overcooked, and flavorless dishes, often served by rushed or inattentive waitstaff. However, for patrons looking for a local favorite with outdoor seating and good pub food, the Gillnetter does have its fans. Quality seems to vary, but take-out fish and chips consistently impress. Recent improvements in management and attention to detail are noted. Overall, if consistent food quality and customer service are priorities, diners may want to proceed with caution.
We have done take out fish and chips several times from the Gillnetter and we are never disappointed. The quality is always good and the quantity of food is good.
The lunch menu today was outstanding! We ordered surf and turf Caesar salad… with the New York steak and prawns that were delicious. Great prices… very friendly and attentive service. I highly recommend
This place was awesome when it first went into business as it was a magnet close to our home near the Mary Hill Bypass. We had not gone there for years, and decided to try it out in 2022. The food was okay but the décor needed a facelift. I recall long ago, the scrumptious shrimp nachos that were the best I've experienced. Kerwin
I've been coming to the gillnetter for 15+ years, and although they no longer have thier Sunday buffet brunch this place is still fantastic! Inside offers many different seating options, including the patio however you can still see the river just as well from parts of the inside. This last visit we both had fish chips (cod) and it was delicious although the tartar sauce could be more flavorful. I had ordered a side of pickles and literally that's what I got a little salad plate full, someone understands the need for pickles haha! These pickles are similar to white spots
Great pub in PoCo. Been there several times and the food is hit-and-miss, not overwhelming for sure. Friendly staff
