Contribute FeedbackAsahi has been a staple in the Port Coquitlam community, with a variety of fresh sushi options at reasonable prices. While some reviewers found the decor lacking and a broken toilet seat, others praised the quality of the food and the attentive service. The restaurant seems to have gone through ups and downs, but recent visits have shown an improvement in both quality and creativity of the dishes. With fresh sashimi, tasty rolls, and unique signature items, Asahi is making a comeback as a favorite local spot for sushi lovers.
I am rapidly becoming a regular at Asahi. Very friendly staff. Very reasonably priced and (most importantly) very good flavours. Fresh product combined with fast service return customer. They have booths and the more traditional sliding rice paper doors on individual table rooms. I could do without the TVs on the wall but it is becoming more and more difficult to avoid them. At least the sound is off.
I have been to this restaurant numerous times and each time it is worse than the last. I always find that a restaurant that takes care of its washrooms, is a sign that it cares about its clients. Not this one. Broken toilet seat in women's washroom. Whole section of seat is broken off and jagged. DANGEROUS, UN-HYGIENIC, and honestly pathetic. Home depot is just down the street and it takes 10 minutes to get a new seat. Absolutely shameful. The fact that they did not even bother to fix it says a lot. The waitress already knew bout it so it was not a last minute happening. Other toilet set is almost wobbling off the frame. In the restaurant, the seat backs were plywood stamped with dragon flies, for what? To look fancy? Again, spend a little money to clean up your act. Food was ok and with so much competition for good sushi, its important to be ble to provide quality sushi. I would not return here. Lack of care for the restaurant and sushi thy was just ok. There are so many other places close by. Time to close the doors or fix things up. A total flop and a 1/5. The 1 was for the hope you read the review and do something to improve your restaurant.
I had an excellent experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. I highly recommend giving this place a try!
We have been coming here for years, it is a family favorite by far. they offer a wide assortment of rolls and fresh fish items. Their menu is not too complicated and the prices are reasonable. Long standing business in Port Coquitlam.
