Amazing place to see the natural caves of limestone. You should not miss visiting Battalion to see this. Pretty old and completely isolated. Seniors do not have to visit as there is a lot of walking through the jungle / village. Children over 5 years can probably visit with parents. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Limestone Cave Baratang:
It's a ridiculously long drive and a 3 km walk through slush and mud for a literally 10 min walk into the cave. Latter portion is blocked off. The 3km walk can be taxing on the elderly. Slippery and some steps as well. We saw about 3 Jarwa kids along the way. Also, it's 900 per head for the boat ride and the guide. View all feedback.
Pretty much a unique wonder of nature! Lot of Padauk trees as we walk through the forest. Walking on the bridge over the thick mangroves on the way is a good experience. Various shapes of the limestone s are really interesting. There are guides who provide the information on the formation and types of limestone.... However, they run through the information and tour too quickly. Do carry a torch along as last few metres of the caves are completely dark.

Limestone cave is so beautiful, especially when you visit at noon. You can really feel like stones and with the flashlight light it is so beautiful to observe these limestone with great designs. The guide will help you explain it and see different designs and different colors. You need to go a bit to reach this place, but worth a walk safely.
Amazing experience during the journey towards Limestone Cave. I'll write the travel details so you better plan. I started the trip at 0545 on 02 Apr 22 and reach Ferrargunj at 0730. It must complete the form for the approval of the vehicle and check the Kovid certificate. If u did not take a second dose, there is a counter for Kovid Rapid test, which costs Rs. 100/ per head to 05 Yrs child. Under 05 years no covid test is required. From Ferrargunj Check-Post, after displaying the vehicle paper, u must travel to Convoy to Jarawa Protection Post, Middle Strait, which takes around 47 kms and takes about 02 hours. First convoy starts from 0730, so you need to reach Ferrargunj until 0645 hours to complete all formalities and reach Ferrargunj Check-Post, which takes about 20 minutes. The trip in Convoy is amazing and the state of the road is also good. Then after reaching Jarawa Protection Post, Middle Strait, u need to park ur car if you don't go to Diglipur. Parking is free. Then you need to take U Ferry (Boat) to Baratang, which costs Rs. 11.00 per head and it takes about 20 minutes to get there. Ferry is available regularly from 05 minutes. When you reach Baratang, it is better to make lunch and then go to Lime Stone Cave. From here you will get u Speed Boat towards Lime Stone Cave, which costs Rs. 800.00 per head except under 05 years of child. It also takes about 30 minutes. This trip is amazing. The boatman will only take cash. After the descent of Speed Boat u must go about 1.5 km towards Lime Stone Cave, which will take 20 to 25 minutes. There is a small market that basically sells Lime juice at Rs. 20.00 per glass. If u fill petrol of 20 ltrs, then it will be good for further and return. Wear enough cash as people do not accept cash through online mode. Total trip was amazing. U must see the place that is amazing.
The only con was the ugly price. It took us almost 12 hours (great trip) but the whole trip was worth it. The boat through the mangroves, the trek through the jungle and the beautiful caves should be seen at least once.
