The restaurant offers a warm welcome and has a friendly, knowledgeable waiter. The atmosphere is serene, with soft classical music playing in the background. The view of Porlock Bay is stunning. Visited Locanda for the first time on Valentine's evening with my wife and had a fabulous evening. We eat from a set menu and each course was a sumptuous delight! The chef came and spoke with us after and the front of house and table waiter were lovely. Particularly loved the local oysters. Highly recommended.
Visited locanda for the first time on Valentine's Day with my wife and had a fabulous evening. we eat from a set menu and each cure was a lush joy! the chef came and spoke with us and the front of the house and table waiters were beautiful. especially the local oysters loved. highly recommended.
We received a polite greeting upon arrival, and the initial service was decent, which I consider important. However, even though the restaurant wasn’t full, the music was not conducive to a pleasant atmosphere; it was occasionally too loud. This is a notable concern, as there were no soft furnishings or curtains to help absorb sound. Our dining experience was mixed overall. The appetizers were very enjoyable, and my wife was particularly impressed. However, my pasta dish was lacking. The dessert menu was quite limited, offering few options for coffee, dessert wine, or cheese. Overall, while we genuinely wanted to enjoy this meal, we felt something was missing, especially as the service declined towards the end of the evening. At that point, we even had to collect our own check and felt quite overlooked, as no one said goodbye. All in all, it was a bit underwhelming. My wife would recommend it based on the quality of her meal, while I personally would not. Too many flaws for my liking. Hopefully, this feedback is helpful.
The restaurant offers a warm welcome with a friendly and knowledgeable waiter. Soft classical music plays in the background, creating a serene atmosphere. The views of Porlock Bay are stunning. I highly recommend the celeriac soup, which was fantastic, and the duck was incredibly tender and delicious, paired perfectly with a good Veneto wine. To top it all off, we enjoyed a delightful dessert and some complimentary limoncello, making for a perfect meal. It may not be the cheapest option, but it’s definitely worth every penny. Highly recommended!
I have no complaints about the food; it was delicious. However, the atmosphere was quite subdued, and the waiter seemed uncomfortable in his role, which did not contribute to a pleasant ambiance.
