Poowong Cafe & Takeaway

We were in Gippsland on a cold rainy day and pulled into tiny Poowong at lunchtime. Hubby is GF so we didn’t hold out much hope of finding food. Poowong cafe was open, warm, friendly, well priced and had a good range. Best of all they had great gluten free options. Punching above their weight

The best ‘baked Spud’ in Gippsland. Great menu. Service, excellent, friendly and helpful staff. Great value!

If you’re down South Gippsland way, this hidden gem is well worth the turn off. Truly a burger for the ages. Home made patty, all the vegetables the chain stores forgot beetroot. Even the chips are real potato. We have been down working this was a brilliant find. Enjoy

Stumbled in here late on a Sunday wet and cold. The instant great service warmed us up immediately. Sweet potato Wedges for $8 with Aioli, Schitnzel, bacon and cold slaw burger for $10, two coffees for $3 each and a slice of chocolate heaven for $4 saw my wife and I extremely content by the end of our visit. The Wedges were perfect, the burger delicious, the coffee decent and the slice to die for. So good that we ordered two more to take away! A great country cafe worth stopping in for sure.
