We had wonderful unhurried meal. We had risotto and lasagna for dinner, after starting with a fabulous bruschetta. All were excellent and service was charming. We enjoyed so much we returned for lunch before leaving Pontresina. Lunch on the patio enjoying the food and sunshine...was perfect! View all feedback.
What Noah Mettler doesn't like about Il Caravaggio Restaurant:
Your experience can heavily depend on the waiter. Food is good, quite pricey but ok for its range. In general quite salty. Wine selection is ok, but prices are high. View all feedback.

This place was once great. local flair and kitchen. now it is just a standard cheap restaurant in a hotel. the interieur is boring and not very nice and the service is really not good.
Nice varied menu mostly Italian, with local specialties like capuns and extensive wine list. Unlike many places, this is open all afternoon into evening. We arrived at the Hotel Allegra next door around 2 pm. We were able to get a fine late...lunch at Caravaggio. We also returned for dinner another night. Fine dining with casual atmosphere
See if you get an attentive waiter. If not, choose some other restaurant. However our waiter was fantastically kind and friendly, we learned about Grison specialities. The pasta, the capuns, and more specialities, were just great. We were happy with our visit in many ways,...and hope you will too. Side note: we forgot a football under our table but next morning it was returned to us in our hotel the Schweizerhof at 07:00 thank you
I went last night but was hardly acknowledged when first arrived. Once I had obtained a table after 8 mins with a waiter looking at his watch, I then after a few minutes had to again ask for a menu... I ordered the rosti which...was tasty and it did arrive quite quickly. There were a few big tables that had already had their food so, in my opinion they were not busy. Both staff never asked if all was ok or if I even wanted another beer. After another 10 minutes, I was handed my bill and told that I must now close.... Now maybe management might look at this review and wonder why I wanted to take the time to write a negative comment. If a person is on their own, make them feel welcome. If your staff see someone standing, then acknowledge them to say that you are busy and will be with you shortly. Its all to do with the welcome. If your staff dont knowledged this, then maybe they should do something else. Foolish me, in going back again tonight at 20h32 to again not be acknowledged. Just appearance of staff not in control as they flapped in plugging in a hotplate... it comes down to service. A smile goes a long way but due to this, I would not recommend this restuarant. I was then recommended other restuarants in the area and had a superb meal. 10 out of 10 at The Steinbok.... With a huge smile
