I've been wanting 2 try this place for a min... I took the 55min drive and they did NOT disappoint, everything was full of flavor. Jerk chicken was amazing, rasta pasta excellent, only thing was the rice and beans was little dry... I'll definitely be coming back here again and again View all feedback.
My first time experience was different but well worth it! The food was very authentic! Some of the best Jamaican food I?ve had in a long time! 10 out of 10 on the food and drinks! They are short staffed and we had to order our food at the counter after we were seated at our table . Friendly staff but very busy. Will order take out instead next time.
First time experiencing this location. We live 45 minutes away but decided to order when we arrived. Great atmosphere and I love how we have the option to watch them prepare our food while wait for our carry out. My only negative is our wait time, we arrived at 12:45 and left at 2:30. Our order was fairly big which is why I'm not upset with our wait. We ordered the usual, curry goat and oxtail dinners. We also ordered jerk shrimp, pepper steak, shrimp rasta pasta, coco bread and reggae punch (which I drank before I could take the pic of the beautiful drink). Definitely recommend!
If you're looking for authentic island-style Jamaican cuisine, you must visit this restaurant. The food was absolutely fantastic! I ordered the Veggie Plate, which included Rice and Peas, Plantains, and cabbage. To top it off, I had a refreshing Sorrel Juice. I highly recommend this place; even though I ordered my food to go, the music playing created a lovely ambiance that made me feel like I was in Jamaica while I waited. Plus, the food was made to order—fresh and hot. They also offer a brunch on Saturdays from 11 AM to 2 PM, featuring traditional Jamaican dishes along with vegan-friendly options. I definitely plan on returning!
Without a doubt, this is the best Jamaican food I’ve ever tasted. I ordered the jerk chicken, which came with rice and beans, along with macaroni and cheese. The mac and cheese is simply incredible—definitely the best I've ever had. The spice on the jerk chicken is just perfect. I live in Southgate, and I would gladly drive an hour just to eat here; it’s that amazing! My only concern was that I thought my plantains weren’t included, but it turns out they are sold separately. The menu indicates they come with the meal, but they're updating it. I returned today, 7/13, and spent $30. I didn’t mind the mix-up at all because the food is just that delicious. I’m hoping my second visit is as great as the first!
Once I pushed aside my disappointment over the packaging, I dove into the food and found it to be fantastic. They provided plenty of maple syrup, which even included spices—such a nice touch! The mushrooms and grits were hearty and satisfying. However, the Ackee was the standout; I had never tasted vegetables quite like that, and the dumplings were delicious—more like fried bread than traditional dumplings. I enjoyed dipping them in the maple syrup that accompanied my waffles and cauliflower. Everything was flavorful and unique, making the meal quite enjoyable. My partner wasn't as enthusiastic since the food was a bit greasy, which is something to keep in mind if that's not your preference. I would love to return and try more of their vegan offerings, although I doubt I will unless they switch to sustainable dishware. If I’m really determined to go back, I might consider bringing my own water bottle and utensils to reduce waste a little.
