I am originally from Piedmont, but I now leave abroad. What I love about the place is that the people are friendly and know what they are doing. They can present the dishes in a lovely way and also tell you about the origin of every single ingredient. This time, what I loved the most besides ravioles, was a mint panna cotta. It does sound strange, but the taste was worth the trip!

I called in the morning to ask for a single bedroom, one night, next week. The gentleman told me it was available and the price was 50 Euro. I didn 't reserve immediately because I had to check if my trip really cold pass from there. Few hours later, I called again to confirm the reservation. A lady answered and told me the minimum stay in this period is 3 nights! At that point, I asked to forget my pre-booking. The lady says, well, ok, I can give you the room for one night only: it is 70 Euro. I pointed out that in the morning it was 50 and she said 50 is for the twin, the single is 70 . What? The twin is cheaper? What? Yes, it is 50 per person. At that point I was so disappointed for the lack of clarity and correctness that I booked in an other hotel.

A very warm welcome to a beautiful family run locanda. Menu a la carte, local produce cooked with a twist and contemporary presentation. Very relaxed atmosphere, our 14 month old pre walking crawler being smiled at by all phew! Very friendly and thoughtful staff, birthday candles and singing for my partner. Shared starter, 2 main meals, 2 desserts, water, wine and coffee less than 50€!! More than acceptable for the quality of the food and service! We'll definitely be back ;

We were touring the Alpine passes on our motorbikes and looked for accommodation on the Italian side of the Col Agnel. By lucky chance we chose La Peiro Groso on an internet search. We found it to be an excellent family-run hotel and restaurant with a warm welcome, good food and comfortable rooms in a charming village. The village is a pedestrian area, but the hotel is right beside the village car park. Strongly recommended.

With mum cleaning the rooms, son in the kitchen, daughter-in-law welcoming you serving in the restaurant and dad helping out everywhere, this is an archtypical family run hotel. The rooms are large and comfortable, the restaurant good and the prices are very reasonable. They do everything possible to make you feel at home and to provide anything you may wish for.
