Contribute Feedback What Denisse Slade doesn't like about Steak Sun:
Food is good but not worth the price, we had to wait around 30 minutes for our food, every table around us even the ones that arrive after we’re served before us. The waiters were not helpful at all, we ask for water and it was never brought to our table. Wouldn’t recommend coming here View all feedback.
Excellente dinde et délicieuse joue de porc!! Bravo à l'équipe. L'accompagnement est également très bon. Nous recommandons sans hésitation.
As others have said wonderful food, terrible service. We entered the restaurant and asked for a table for two, just to say “outside” from a man who rushed us away. There were no available tables outside. We have managed to find a place in the old pharmacy next door that is part of Steak Sun (a bit confusing if you don't know how we were given menus for the pharmacy and had to ask for the steak menu again). I had the fillet steak, sweet potatoes and salad. All were perfect, even to salad. I would have stayed for Dessert if the atmosphere wasn't so strange. Would you recommend if you can book in advance to sit in the actual restaurant, I am sure that this would be a completely different experience.
I highly recommend you eat here more than once if you can. The Veal Liver starter is an absolute must!! I've had liver in several other countries across the world, but this was quite simply the best!! The Mushroom Risotto as a main was also very, very good. The mushrooms were large and tasty, the risotto was cooked perfectly. For dessert, the Creme Brulé was another hit. Nothing was amiss. On the 2nd visit, the Veal was up to its very high standards yet again. I decided to go with the Tuna Tataki based on the reviews and was definitely not disappointed. A lovely fresh meaty piece of fish beautifully prepared. For dessert, I decided to go with the Grilled Pineapple. Again, cooked to perfection and so full of taste. I can quite honestly say that you get great value for money at this restaurant. The wine selection is very good too. The waiters are friendly and knowledgeable which is helpful if you're struggling to decide what to have. If I find myself in Ponta do Sol again I will definitely be sitting at their table again.
Lovely restaurant just off the nice seafront in a quaint street, with superb fresh seafood (superb squid and steak in particular) plenty of grill-based fresh choices, excellent wine selection (courtesy of their sister cafe, the old pharmacy next door). Very knowledgeable and helpful wait staff. We sat under the trees outside but inside was very nice too.
The Tuna Tataki was delightful, as well as the risotto. Even the boiled potato with cream was well made. It’s located in a cute alley, be aware that some cats will keep you company :
