A beautiful room in a 5-star hotel overlooking the marina, with service to fit. Upon arrival, we were informed that lunch was a set menu, with the main thing a selection of fish or meat of the day, or a traditional salt meadow, chickpea and egg main plus a choice of secondary dishes. They first bring a selection of appetizers consisting of bread, butter, pork rillettes, fresh azore cheese with chilli jam and salt and potato croquettes. Then followed watermelon gazpacho. We chose both the meat option that was a steak, cooked medium rare and cut, served with roasted sweet potatoes with black olives and thin frits. There is also a selection of deserts. Water, wine and coffee are also included. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented and it had to be the bargain of our entire stay. The whole lot came to €18 per person. In comparison, there was a choice of pizzas if you don't want the set lunch. Price from a pizza €18.
Amazing food experience. Go for the degustation menu. The chef is outstanding. You will be amazed with the quality of the dishes. The wine selection is also of great taste with focus on local wines. Great price too. Definitely recommend.
Listen. This is not a hotel restaurant this is a global dining destination that happens to be located in a hotel. We were absolutely blown away by the quality of ingredients, friendless of service, skill of cookery, and care of presentation that went into everything. À Terra and its chef stands alongside all the best Michelin restaurants. It’s one of the best places to eat in all of Portugal, let alone Ponta Delgada. Thank you to all the service and kitchen staff for all you do and for giving everyone such a lovely experience!
One of the most delicious meals we have ever eaten. Absolutely everything was flawless. You can feel the passion the chef puts into his work and it’s not easy cooking on an open fire but the team working in the open kitchen were impressively calm and organised while producing their Michelin level food. Our waitress recommended an incredible cravo fish and our wine waiter Paulo a great wine. If we could award 7 stars for the food and service we would.
