Restaurant du Musee de l'Eau

We have been dimming here several times on holiday in France since 2004 (14 visits in a beautiful and hospitable country). eating is delicious, but the service was exaggerated today. we had booked a table, arrived on time at 13.00 clock to wait 15 minutes...for the menu. After 45! minutes water and drinks were served. other guests who arrived later than we were served two cures (the same participants) before we had only one swallow. our table (the only) was placed between two sun umbrellas, so if the sun on our table (32 degrees) we asked if we had to move and pass into another empty one. (not reserved). only one waiter returned with more water than he was asked to simply remove the other two empty bottles and they never returned to ask what our daughters wanted to dessert in their menus, so we simply gave a party of seven that never again for another service here.

Warning never go there impolite waiter, felt as disturbing. not listening and again very impolite when someone warns them, there is a bee next to them, they do not interrupt them. if someone asks you if you are aperol splashing. do not cut them off and tell the “hoo?!” , should get your waiter training

With this restaurant being number 1 on TA and us being in Pont-en-Royans, we wanted to try their daily lunch (at 14 EUR. Too bad, they had already ran out of it by 1 pm. I had the vegetarian menu instead (at 20.5 EUR My...first dish was delicious (goat cheese heated in the oven with walnuts and honey and a small salad. The second dish was a rather small portion of gratin dauphinois with tomatoes and herbs which was also good. As a dessert I had nougat glacé which I didn't like too much. My partner had 2 dishes from the menu (sea food entry and ravioles as main course. We had a bottle of water (they serve plenty of different brands since it's the water museum after all and 1 Coke and 1 glass of Clairette de Die. We paid 55 EUR. Compared to the lunch at hotel du Vercors we had the day before, which was 30 EUR for the 2 of us (3 courses, 2 glasses of wine and a coffee and a Perrier this restaurant doesn't really come with a good value for money label. Surely the food was good and we might have been better off with their daily menu, but when it comes to our own experience, then we'd recommend the Hotel du Vercors restaurant rather than this one.

We had a WONDERFUL lunch here during our wedding week festivities. The chef created a fantastic 4 course meal of salad with local cheese, duck leg with potato puree, fromage frais and a delightful walnut tart. The duck was amazing. The atmosphere was wonderful- outside...on their patio. Afterwards we walked alongside the river and to the beautiful waterfall in Pont-en-Royans. I highly recommend you stop here for a meal! Our wedding was in nearby Villard-de-Lans and we did a driving tour loop with 6 cars to Pont-en-Royans, then to the Grotte de Choranche....a very enjoyable day.

We had the menu du terroir for €15, which was superb. The trout was perfectly cooked with lovely sauce a l'anethe. Excellent nut tart with caramel sauce. Very friendly welcome, prompt service. Huge range of French and foreign waters! Reasonably priced wine. Good atmosphere with...wonderful views. Highly recommended. Ignore the one negative review, which is completely misleading as the Manager says in his response.
