Ambience is amazing and food better. Local cuisine and other Chinese and Indian food available. Staff are very helpful. The owner Ponnanna and Vivek are always around to ensure that the customers get the best. From Talking with them I got to know that the interiors are inspired from the the traditional ainmane of Kodavas. Definitely a must visit for amazing food in coorg View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Spice Rack:
We had ordered chicken fried rice and chilly chicken however the rice and chicken tasted nothing like restaurant quality. Food stalls have better taste and easy on the pocket. If stopping in Gonikoppal please try out papera cuisina. View all feedback.

Being locals we decided to try Spice Rack on our Anniversary, where we found the food to be quite tasty. They have a chicken that is cooked on the coals and smeared with the local tiny green chilies. We requested them to make it medium spicy as the tiny chillies can be like dynamite. It is really tasty and is not found in the menu card. The service was good and we requested to see the rooms . We were taken around by the Owner. The rooms looked comfortable and neat.
A decent place with average food and slightly costly for the quality and variety of food served. The absence is good though.
This is a welcome break in Gonikoppa town during the long drive from Bangalore to Coorg. This restaurant is located in hotel Coccoon. The restaurant and wash rooms are clean. The ambience is pleasant. The staff are courteous and efficient. The food was really good and prices reasonable. On the whole a good place to break a journey for food.
Spice rack was surreal. Its a restaurant that simply has terrific food topped only by the soothing atmosphere and attentive service. Anyway, staying at The Cocoon after a long drive, we were not inclined to drive around for options. My friend saw the restaurant and said it must be good, he kept pushing all of us despite my protest(There is a reason for that, generally the restaurants attached with hotels rarely compliment the bill, leave alone your greedy taste buds) So we decided to give the Spice Rack a chance and we were very surprised, we walked across the hall into a lovely family restaurant. Our server was also friendly and warm, providing us with information regarding their signature dishes, even replied cordially to my nosy friend's questions regarding the theme of the decors which frankly was quite refreshing. The food arrived and it was wonderful, specially the chicken. Looks like the management is hell bent on setting up new standards. I ate more than usual and even had a go at the desert eventhough I generally skip it. Overall a perfect stop after our long drive, except for the look my friend kept giving me, as we finished enjoying the hospitality and moved towards our comfy rooms, I did admit to my friend "Yes that was good.. very good !!"
