I must say with cars blocking the entrance and with looks of the outside of the restaurant it looks like an average store. However, this is top notch place with extremely polite, helpful and sincere waitress and the chef. We were in rush and had less than an hour for lunch (which is too short for a proper Italian lunch), they helped with the choices. I had home made tagliatelle with lamb and porcini and my colleague had the homemade tagliolini with the local cheese (shame on me i did not note the name). Both were delicious. We had a glass of light red from Alto Adige also recommended by the restaurant, it was soft and not overpowering the food. And shared a suoufle. I would definitely go there again. Wonderful place.
A surprisingly upmarket restaurant in an unexpected place. My husband and I stopped here for a late lunch on our way to Pollone. A large table of businessmen enjoying a leisurely lunch were the only other customers but the room had plenty of tables. Given we don’t speak any Italian at all we took pot luck with the menu and randomly chose 2 Primi dishes. We were surprised to receive a very large selection of breads, and the waitress made a valiant attempt to explain the flavours one was pumpkin and others with seeds or grains. Then we received a complimentary starter of a mini quiche type thing which was light and fluffy. The two dishes turned out to be both seafood pastas. One was absolutely excellent fish inside a round pasta with a pistachio sprinkle and an amazing tomato sauce and the second a fettuccine type spaghetti with fish chunks and a few mini tomatoes. The second dish was a bit bland for my taste, especially compared to the taste explosion of the other dish. Sadly we didn’t have dessert, so I can’t comment on that. The wine list was extensive.
I have been travelling in the north of Italy for work for a couple of weeks and in a bounty of exceptional meals my lunch at QB Ristorante was a highlight. First course consisted of fresh, crudo fish/crustacean. It included tuna, red shrimp, marron with an exquisite passionfruit mousse. My pasta dish was cooked perfectly. Desserts are especially impressive at QB and chef recommended a selections plate of dessert items. The techniques used for each of the desserts (see picture) were 5 star and the flavours in each item surprising and well matched. The other thing I need to mention relates to the service. I understand that the restaurant is run by a wife and husband duo and it brought a smile to my face to see their passion for the food and their obvious desire to see patrons enjoy their food. I don't speak (or understand) Italian but the enthusiasm for their work was undeniable. Can thoroughly recommend QB Ristorante if you get an opportunity to visit...
