Ranchman’s Ponder Steakhouse

Best Chicken Fried Steak. By far the best Chicken Fried Steak and Fries in North Texas and surroundings. It is about a 45-minute drive from Fort Worth and it is worth it. Many famous singers, actors, celebrities were in this restaurant. Great service every time my family and I go there. Always fresh and warm when it comes to the table.

This is also called Ranchman's Cafe. I had a 12 ounce fried chicken stealing. It was wonderful. It came with a pound of pommes. I didn't have breakfast or lunch, so I'm hungry. That really hits the point. The cream was great even though I add extra pepper. They also have fruit butter and cakes for dessert. They even had Rhabarb-Piee, but I was too crowded, even to consider a take-out. The Ribeye my dining room partner had was enjoyable, but was a little unseasonal. Important note: If you know that you want a baked potato, you need to call it in time. Hey! What can I say? It's their rule. The restaurant is a step back in time with old signed black and white photos of celebrities from the past bound to the walls. I recommend this restaurant. Many parking spaces on the property next to the café or on the street in front of the restaurant itself.

Great restaurant. Once I had visitors to Texas. I wanted to show them what happened to Texas Steakhouses so I brought them to the Ponder Steakhouse! The fact that it is in Ponder could be overlooked. However, you are missing a lot when you pass this place above. From Burgers who knock your socks from Steaks, you can't beat this place is great. The est part of it all It will not break the bank like some other more expensive and less attractive steakhouses.

The real deal. Totally authentic. Lot of new places spend tons to imitate this vibe. If you need a baked potato order ahead but the fries are great. I only get the beef...steaks, CFS, burgers. All are excellent.

A Add-a-Quail. This is one of those places on peoples bucket lists.... Take a drive /ride ion the country end up at Ponder Steakhouse! If we have a family birthday or event...you will find us here! Must try the Calf Fries sometimes called Mountain Oysters, these hand breaded and deep-fried to golden brown favorites are served with cream gravy, Ranchman 's BBQ sauce or ranch dressing. I 'm always a sucker for a big steak and a Add-a-Quail, I usually have enough to take home to last for days : . Call ahead Baked Potato by reservation only. Burgers are AMAZING and Dessert to die for! I just made myself hungry...might have to call for a Potato this weekend!
