Description

Kwon's is a nostalgic Pomona staple with generous portions, low prices and convenient dine-in, takeout and delivery. Longtime patrons praise familiar flavors, but many report inconsistent recipes and skimpy portions, declining cleanliness, rude front‑of‑house service and even food‑safety concerns. The casual, local spot offers parking and ample seating but can feel unkempt; it's worth visiting for budget comfort food, though approach with caution.

On top of that, I ordered a large beef rice and was disappointed to find that there was hardly any beef on it. This has never happened before, which made it even more ridiculous. I could literally count about six small pieces of beef, even for a large order, whereas typically there would be more than enough. Overall, this was a really disappointing experience.

Yesterday, I ordered two plates of number 68, which consists of soup with shrimp, chicken, and meat. The food was quite delicious. However, it CAUSE HORRIBLE DIARRHEA and UNBEARABLE STOMACH PAIN for my husband, my children, and me. This is the second time we've experienced these severe symptoms after eating here, and we will not be returning. I’m unsure if there are issues with the food quality or hygiene, but I definitely cannot recommend this place. (BEWARE) Be very cautious when eating here.

I think this place must have different owners because it's not the same as it used to be. The food is good, but they only add three small pieces of chicken to the chicken fried rice, even when you pay for extra meat. It's frustrating that they charge you for it but don’t actually provide the extra. The chicken fried rice ends up being mostly rice with very little meat. When you order through DoorDash, they also never include forks, napkins, soy sauce, or hot sauce. The service has definitely declined; it seems like the food is now being cooked by a different team. Maybe that's why there's a shortage of meat when you order—it feels like they're too preoccupied with taking food home for their families instead of serving customers properly.

Went into Kwon's to pick up some fried rice, been going to this place for 33 years, to find the restaurant was dirty, the front half lady's Gabby and or Carmen need customer service etiquette, very rude and unwelcoming. Quality has went down hill, The table surfaces were dirty, one employee had her son laying and lounging in a booth with his feet and stuff all over the table. while paying customers, some elderly had to stand waiting for a seat or table. The women whom were to provide service, hosting, waitressing instead provided cackling, rudeness and deny proper customers service. The food and famous hot sauce quality deserves negative reviews. A place that once was a hidden Gem in Pomona and was part of most of our childhood experience growing up in Pomona, has now resorted to a dump with rudeness, bad quality of food and unprofessionalism. Don't waste your money or time going to this place. It's not the same.In addition being a Hispanic woman the rudeness that I seen given by the Hispanic ladies working the front half to other non- english speaking Hispanics was a complete shock. Since this restaurant is located in a low income area , we're most people are not well versed in technology to give yelp reviews. This a horrible disadvantage to this community.

I really like this place. Lots of food for a fair price.
