During our holiday in Nikiti, Halkadiki, we booked a tour to the old town of Nikiti and the peasant market. While the market is partly quite touristic (which, in addition to some olives, did not stop us from making a few purchases themselves), they also sold many local products, fresh fish, herbs and olives. After we went to the old church overlooking Nikiti, we stopped at Barcarolla for some refreshments. We ordered two of their freshly made juices (soon good and two sparkling wine, each with a cherry. This not only looked very unique, but also gave it a light cherry taste we enjoyed. The situation is amazing. While you cannot see the ocean, the bar consists of several terracces sat under large trees with lampshades that gave us the necessary shade from the sun. In the bar area you can find all kinds of things and sit outside you can see what tourists and locals like walking. We didn't order food because we didn't have much time, but the menu sounded delicious.
Interesting spot that kind of sprawls outside across the street in the old upper village of Nikiti. Lots of people but it never really feels too crowded because there's room to spread out. Has a similar feel to some of the tapas joints in Spain. Minus the tapas of course. The service was good. So was the drink. Nice spot. I'll be back.
