Really enjoyed this invaluable café. Nestled in Polk City, Iowa, this place is the place to go for excellent sandwiches, soups and salads. You also have coffee and desserts. I enjoyed the well-rounded possibilities of this place! Very recommended!

Jim Oglesby. Polk City finally has a legitimate breakfast lunch spot! The sparkling clean and spacious coffee house is located on the Square. Along with a great selection of coffees, Reising Sun serves pastries, soft drinks, smoothies, ice cream and made-from-scratch panini sandwiches, salads and soups. The open room is divided into dining and relaxation areas, and full leather couches and chairs invite you to stay a while. Well worth the visit; please help support this wonderful new restaurant!

The food is delicious and fresh, but it does take some time to be served. I resolved this issue by calling ahead. The atmosphere is clean and calming. It's great to have a non-fried and less greasy option in Polk City, even though I enjoy fried foods as well. As I mentioned, the wait might be longer, but that's because they take the time to prepare each dish properly.
