I've been to Fcazz e Birr in Polignano several times, and I always stop by every time I'm in town because it's the perfect place to grab a quick bite without wasting time. The place is casual, very lively, and typical of Apulian street food. There are only a few tables outside, so it can be difficult to find a seat, especially during busy periods like summer, but the atmosphere remains pleasant and lively. The real highlight is undoubtedly the focaccia barese: the dough is soft, slightly crunchy on the outside, and soft and fragrant on the inside, with that authentic flavor of Apulian extra virgin olive oil that instantly makes your mouth water. It's filled with fresh, simple yet flavorful ingredients, and every bite gives you that typical local specialty experience, perfect with a cold beer or while strolling through Polignano's alleys. The staff is very friendly and helpful, always ready to serve you quickly and with a smile. Waiting times are never long, even when the place is crowded, and the service manages the high influx of customers well, without making anyone feel neglected. The prices are reasonable, fair for the quality offered, and absolutely affordable: you can enjoy an excellent panzerotto or focaccia and a beer without spending too much. In short, Fcazz e Birr is the ideal place for those who want to enjoy authentic focaccia from Bari in a casual, quick, and friendly way, perfect for a snack, a break during a stroll, or a summer evening in Polignano. I will definitely return every time I pass by and recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Apulian street food experience.
I went on the advice of Don Vito, an expert in the area, I have to say the truth is everything is very good, they make a very good fcazz, the real fcazz from Bari!
I had a terrible experience here. The owner is incredibly arrogant and physically aggressive; he actually shoulder-checked my father while he was waiting in line for the restroom, like he was playing hockey. The cashier was also unpleasant and couldn 't communicate in English at all. The staff acts very 'snobbish ' and looks down on customers. While the drinks are okay, no one should visit a place where the owner thinks it’s okay to push people. Save your money and go somewhere where you 'll be treated with respect.
We tried focaccia barese at this little place. The food was good, really worth it. It was a shame about the service. Only one girl served so many people, which created a long line and an interminable wait. We wanted to get another piece of focaccia, but to avoid waiting too long, we decided against it. The tables outside were always dirty due to a lack of staff.
