It is true, the service is pretty average! But I'm not American so I won't let that get in the way of what the place was, and that was somewhere impromptu to go for lunch, which was actually very tasty indeed. My wife and I both had leg of chicken in a sauce with chips, rice and salad. The chicken just fell off the bone and was very, very tasty with the nice compliment of rice and chips. Nice fresh bread, nice beer,... View all feedback.
What xlynnbx doesn't like about L'Istanbul:
Attempted to eat here twice. The first time I asked for something on the menu and was told it was not possible, so just had a drink. The second time we went for dinner, and although the full menus were on tables, and the menu boards were out, after we decided and went to place our order, everything we asked for, the waiter simply said 'non '. Eventually he enlightened us by saying they only served kebabs that night.... View all feedback.

Eventually he enlightened us by saying they only served kebabs that night. Needless to say we left. Very poor customer service for such a small place that never seemed to busy, now I know why.
Nice fresh bread, nice beer, and all at a relatively decent price. Big portion too. The service was pretty average, but they did bring everything out together, and were pretty quick with everything too despite being very busy. The young waitress could do with painting a smile on her face though, miserable as sin she was! Good food though.
The server forgot our appetizer, the charcuterie plate. Even worse, he forgot to bring our bottle of wine. I had to walk back to the bar after our plates were presented, and waited patiently for him to remember to bring our wine while he was sipping his coffee, talking to a customer. When I reminded him of our order of wine, he still took his time. When another diner at our table asked for a spicy sauce to accompany the kebab dish, that item was also forgotten. The service here is simply terrible. The server was indifferent, and unaffected by his lack of attentiveness to us, the customer. Mediocre is too kind, he does not belong in the restaurant business. However, on a positive note, the eggplant farci plate was delicious and well-seasoned. The serving size was generous. The items were hot, and also nicely presented. So for 9€ a plate, we received the poorest service , along with a place to sit down while eating our meal, instead of going to the food truck, which provides no seating area. Even for 9€, I would not go back to this place. Life is too short to endure shoddy service, but fortunately, the cooks save this place.
There is multiple vegan dishes and proposition The waitress is friendly and helpful The hummus, falafel and samousas are delicious . And it's filling
Ideally placed: right next to our big one, Turkish cuisine is a treat and here you will not be disappointed! Don't hesitate.
